Architects Association of Iceland
To become a member of the Architects Association of Iceland you have to grant a permission to use the professional title architect in Iceland.
You apply at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
The Architects Association of Iceland has now become a trade union and therefore architects can choose to be a direct member of the society or join AI through BHM union. All new members must send an admission request to the society, ai@ai.is
Members who have union membership in BHM pay 1% of their salaries.
Members who apply for AI direct membership pay the Architects Association's annual fee which is ISK 44,300 + publishing and web media fee ISK 5,200, total ISK 49,500. Membership grants rights to participate in all of the society's affairs other than union affairs.
Architecture students pay no fee.
Members aged 67 and older pay a publishing and web media fee of ISK 5,200 a year.
