Icelandic Design Award 2021 celebrated in Gróska

The Icelandic Design Award 2021 was held in Gróska on the 29th of October. Guðrún Sóley Gestsdóttir, media personality, presented the awards and earlier during the day a productive talk was held about a future based on design, creativity and innovation, directed by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir, the managing of Festa - center for sustainability.

CCP receives recognition for best investment in design at the Icelandic Design Awards 2021

The Icelandic gaming company CCP receives recognition for best investment in design at the Icelandic Design Awards 2021. Sigurður Hannesson, managing director of SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries gave the awards to CCP.

The Icelandic Design Awards 2021 was held in Gróska on the 29th of October. Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir, minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation presented the award to graphic designer Sigurður Oddsson, sculptor Matthías Rúnar Sigurðsson and three-dimensional designer Gabríel Benedikt Bachmann for Hjaltalín - ∞

The honorary award of the Icelandic Design Awards 2021 goes to Gunnar Magnússon, furniture designer and interior architect

The Icelandic Design Awards 2021 took place on the 29th of October in Gróska. The recipient of the honorary award at the Icelandic Design Awards 2021 is Gunnar Magnússon, furniture designer and interior architect for his characteristics that are exquisite and make his work unique as distinct representatives of a prime period in Icelandic furniture design. His children received the award on his behalf from Lilja D. Alfreðsdóttir, minister of education, science and culture.

DesignMarch in May happened in Reykjavík 2021

Iceland's annual design festival, DesignMarch, was held for the 13th time from 19-23 May 2021. The festival was a huge success with over 85 shows throughout Reykjavik and the greater capital area. According to participating designers and thousands of guests who attended the shows, DesignMarch was a much welcomed addition to the current turbulent times and was full of optimism and hope.

The aim is to bring together designers from Iceland and the Nordic capitals in an interesting conversation about design and architecture, thereby creating a foreign forum for the festival in collaboration with the embassy and foreign cooperation site.
