The Icelandic Warehouse at 3daysofdesign

The Icelandic Warehouse is an exhibition of two Icelandic prominent furniture and interior design brands, FÓLK and EPAL, showcasing the diversity in Icelandic design at 3daysofdesign. The exhibition is hosted by the Icelandic Embassy, facilitated by Iceland Design and Architecture, producer of the DesignMarch festival and with the support of Business Iceland.
In the Icelandic Warehouse FÓLK launches its remaking of Icelandic classic furniture and new sustainably and circularly focused design items by its collaborative designers.
FÓLK Reykjavík is an emerging Icelandic interior and lifestyle brand founded in 2017. FÓLK makes designs for modern sustainable living. FÓLK works with progressive designers on smart homeware, furniture and lifestyle products focused on sustainability, responsibility and transparency around the production process. The vision is to enable and inspire people to live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Research shows that 80% of a product's environmental impact is decided upon in the design phase. We firmly believe that entrepreneurs have a big role in innovating new processes and changing the way of doing things. Much can be achieved by applying design thinking to old processes, to find new ways of solving needs and problems and decreasing negative environmental and social impacts of production.
FÓLK will be exhibiting new products and experiments.
The designers that are a part of FOLK are: Jón Helgi Hólmgeirsson, Ólína Rögnudóttir, Theodóra Alfreðsdóttir, Studio Flétta, Gunnar Magnússon, Our Edition, Studio NAVET.

EPAL presents BAÐ, a homage to the unique Icelandic bathing culture. A timeless and carefully authentic collection made by four outstanding Icelandic designers with focus on sustainability and quality.
BAÐ, which means bath in Icelandic, includes a series of objects that make people's bathing experience enjoyable and soothing in a world where stress is overwhelming. EPAL asked four Icelandic designers with different backgrounds and focus in their work to design a collection of items that are inspired by the Icelandic bathing culture i.e. swimming pools, spas, lagoons etc.
Since Iceland is privileged with the natural resource of geothermal water this culture is such a big part of the heritage. Epal believes that there are opportunities to introduce this fascinating and sophisticated culture so other cultures can enjoy it. The design is timeless and authentic, with key values rooted in quality and sustainability.
The designers that take part in the project BAÐ are: IHANNA HOME, Margrét Jónsdóttir ceramic designer, Flothetta and SÓLEY organics.
