Skapalón

Skapalón is TV series about Icelandic design and architecture for young people produced by RÚV, 101 Productions, List fyrir alla and Iceland Design and Architecture.

The four episode series are informative, arouse curiosity and provide an insight into the fields of different designers and disciplines aimed for young people.

Logi Pedro, graduate student in product design at Iceland University of Arts  and a musician, is the host and the series received a nomination for the Edda Award as cultural content of the year 2022.

Iceland Design and Architecture supervised the content of the series and among designers that are interviewes are: Hafsteinn Júlíusson and Karitas Sveinsdóttir product - and interior designers at HAF studio, Arnar Már Jónsson, fashion designer, Snæfríð Þorsteins, graphic designer, Linda Björg Árnadóttir, fashion designer, Óskar Arnórsson, architect, Garðar Eyjólfsson, product designer, Sigríður Sigþórsdóttir, architect, Hrefna Sigurðardóttir og Birta Rós Brynjólfsdóttir product designers at Stúdíó Flétta and Sigurður Oddsson, graphic designer. 

The series are original, the approach is fresh and the goal is to give viewers interesting and fun insight into the work of designers and how design and architecture affect all of our lives. Studying design and architecture is increasingly popular among young people and it is important to provide a good insight into the state of design in Iceland, to be useful for students and teachers, as inspiration, learning material and source.
