DesignMarch in May 2021 countdown - 95 days

This year DesignMarch will take place during May 19th-23rd. The selection committee has been kept busy, (with highest record in number of applications) for the last month and has just revealed that over 100 exciting projects will be showcased during the five day festival.

The Icelandic Design Awards 2020 took place digitally on the 29th of January. The recipient of the honorary award at the Icelandic Design Awards 2020 is Kristín Þorkelsdóttir, graphic designer by Lilja D. Alfreðsdóttir, minister of education, science and culture for her priceless pioneering work in the field of graphic design in Iceland.

66°North receives recognition for best investment in design at the Icelandic Design Awards 2020

The Icelandic clothing company 66°North receives recognition for best investment in design at the Icelandic Design Awards 2020. Sigurður Hannesson, managing director of SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries gave the award to Bjarney Harðardóttir and Helgi Rúnar Óskarsson, owners of 66°North. The company was founded in 1926 and designs high quality outdoor clothing.

Drangar by Studio Granda wins the Icelandic Design Awards 2020

The Icelandic Design Awards 2020 was announced today, 29th of January, digitally. Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir, minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation presented the award to Margrét Harðardóttir and Steve Christer architects from Studio Granda for the project Drangar.

DesignMarch, Iceland´s main design festival will take place in Reykjavík this summer! The festival 2020 was scheduled at the end of March, as it has for the past eleven years; due to Covid-19 pandemic it was postponed.In light of recent positive news the festival can go forward, however in altered form in full collaboration with local authorities

The Icelandic Design Awards was rewarded for the sixth time on the 14th of November. The ceremony took place at Iðnó were the minister of tourism, industry and innovation, Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir gave out the main price. Wave by Genki Instruments won the Icelandic Design Awards 2019.
