Sound the trumpets! Early registration for DesignMarch is open
DesignMarch is a festival of creativity, ideas and new perspectives. It brings together designers, architects and companies that think big, challenge conventions and explore new paths. What is happening? Is something changing? What is beginning to emerge?
The theme of DesignMarch and DesignTalks 2027 is Insight.
Insight is the moment when what was hidden comes to light. We look beyond what is immediately visible and begin to understand what lies beneath: the ideas, experiments, mistakes, and unexpected discoveries that were part of the journey to the final result.
As we are expected to work faster and the demand for perfection keeps growing, we want to make room for the unexpected, the imperfect, and the human. For ideas that are still taking shape, experiments that fail, questions that have not yet been answered, and details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Insight is looking closer. Pausing to ask: What lies beneath the surface? What had to happen for an idea to take shape? Which decisions influenced it? What changed along the way and what emerged by chance?

Early registration and participation fees
Early registration for DesignMarch 2027 will be open from 22 September to 27 October.
Early registrants will pay a reduced participation fee. Anyone is welcome to apply to participate. The DesignMarch Professional Advisory Board reviews all applications, including representatives from professional associations, Iceland University of the Arts, the city of Reykjavík, and DesignMarch.
Please note that you must be logged in to submit an application, but participation is open to everyone.

ISK 25,000 + VAT: Members of professional associations within Iceland Design and Architecture
ISK 55,000 + VAT: Participants who are not members of professional associations within Iceland Design and Architecture
Participation fees after 27 October
ISK 35,000 + VAT: Members of professional associations within Iceland Design and Architecture
ISK 65,000 + VAT: Participants who are not members of professional associations within Iceland Design and Architecture

What is included?
Participants become part of the DesignMarch programme and the festival’s overall promotion. Exhibitions and events are included in the official DesignMarch programme on the festival website and promoted to Icelandic and international media.
Participants also receive access to DesignMarch’s graphic toolkit, created by Strik Studio. The toolkit reflects the festival theme and enables participants to create their own promotional materials using their own imagery. Participants also have access to shared DesignMarch promotional materials, including posters and other materials for use at exhibition venues.
Participants have opportunities to be featured on DesignMarch’s social media channels, including Meet the Designers, and can apply to take part in DesignMatch and international promotional initiatives. Participants also receive priority access and preferential rates for the DesignMarch Design Market.
