Basalt Architects to Osaka

Icelandic architecture firm Basalt will participate in an event entitled Designing Wellbeeing Cities in the Nordic Pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka, Japan on October 2nd.
The theme of EXPO 2025 in Japan is Designing Future Society for Our Lives and the event is organized by the Nordic architecture and design centers in collaboration with the Nordic embassies in Tokyo and the countries' export and marketing offices. Nordic architecture and urban design will be discussed, with a special focus on how design can contribute to well-being and increased connections between people.
Basalt architects participate in a seminar on well-being and design with a special focus on bathing culture. How can bathing culture, combined with history and tradition, innovation, nature and architecture, promote good health and well-being of the public, contribute to further connections between people and more sustainable ways of living in cities.
The Icelandic-Finnish architectural firm Rintala Eggertsson also participates in the program. The Pan-Nordic Pavilion opened on April 13, and is supported by Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The Icelandic company Gagarín in collaboration with Rintala Eggertsson and Kvorning designed the exhibition in the pavilion, which is open until October 13.
