The ideas for my art are profoundly influenced by Icelandic nature and the material I use in my work originates from nature. I dye and spin the material myself. and have been faithful to the loom. I like to work with this old slow technique that is so wonderfully in contrast with the speed of modern day living where everything happens so fast. It is great to be able to use old traditional materials like the soft wool and the difficult horsehair and morph into modern textile.
