Icelandic designers featured in exhibitions across Copenhagen during 3daysofdesign

From June 10–12, Copenhagen once again becomes the centre of the Nordic design scene as 3daysofdesign unfolds across the city. With exhibitions, installations, and events taking place in galleries, showrooms, embassies, shops, and public spaces, the festival offers a global platform for contemporary design and creative innovation. Today, it is considered the most important annual design festival in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
Among Icelandic designers and companies participating this year are Dögg Guðmundsdóttir, Dýpi: Sirrý Ágústsdóttir & Árný Þórarinsdóttir, Ólöf Rut Stefánsdóttir, FOLK: Theodóra Alfreðsdóttir & Ragna Sara Jónsdóttir, Bundle Studio: Jón Hinrik Höskuldsson, Design House Stockholm: Ragnheiður Ösp Sigurðardóttir, and Guðmundur Lúðvík Grétarsson.

FÓLK Remixed by Martin Kechayas
With deep respect for design and acknowledgement of the urgent need for a circular transformation, FÓLK creates high design value objects and furniture that enable the circularity of materials.
At 3daysofdesign FÓLK launches, Gunnar Magnússon’s iconic Lina 99 shelving system from 1972, the first furniture from a waste stream from European rice production. Rice husks are abundant in Spain and with a new technology they are transformed into composite boards available in several natural color variations in partnership with innovative material producer Birdmind. By exploring alternatives to using wood in furniture, FOLK attempts to reduce its dependency on heavy harvested virgin materials such as wood.
FÓLK has in the last two years transformed 17,5 tonnes of waste into design products. That is 17,5 tonnes of material that has been classified as offcuts, waste or no good for production, saved from landfill or incineration.
Events
- June 11 | Designing for a Circular Future: Stories of Transformations | 15:00
- June 11 | Opening party |16:00–18:00

Bundle Studio
Bundle Studio is a Copenhagen based design studio founded by Jón Hinrik Höskuldsson and Kirstine Nørgaard Sejersen. The studio develops furniture and objects at the intersection of material research, industrial design and production.
This year Bundle Studio participates in two curated group exhibitions.
At Material Matters in Christianshavn, Bundle Studio presents a chair developed in collaboration with Stora Enso. The project explores the potential of lignin based adhesives as an alternative to conventional furniture adhesives, which often rely on fossil resources or contain formaldehyde.

Location: Gammel Dok, Strandgade 27B, 1401 Copenhagen
At GROUPED on Islands Brygge, the studio presents Bale, a side table made from flax fibres. The project continues our exploration of biobased materials and how material properties can inform both construction and form.
