Opening of DesignMarch 2023

Welcome to the opening of DesignMarch !

For the fifteenth time DesignMarch will be a harbour for new ideas, inspiration, creative solutions and optimism, where progressive design and innovations bring exhibitors and visitors together May 3rd- 7th.

Let´s meet and officially start the festival on Wednesday 3rd May at 5PM in Harpa. Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Culture and Buisness Affairs, Dagur B. Eggertsson, Mayor of Reykjavík and Halla Helgadóttir, managing director of Icelandic Design and Architecture, will start the festival. Afterwards we recommand visiting all the exciting openings and exhibitions happening all over town!

This year around 100 exhibitions, 400 participants and 100 events will reflect what is happening now in the field of design and architecture and provide an insight into new ways and ideas of dealing with today's challenges that inspires both participants and visitors.

Creative experiments, recycling, innovation, reuse, value creation and play are a common thread in the program, where different design disciplines such as architecture, graphic design, fashion design, product design and digital design shed light on the great growth that is taking place in design in this country.
