Specially designed pooltrips

June 1st, 2022

The Museum of Design and Applied Art offers as a gift three specially designed pool trips in connection with the exhibition Bathing Culture. People can access the trips on www.sundferdir.comand choose a trip around the Western Fjords, the West Coast and the South Coast of Iceland.

The site has a road map that shows in which order to visit the pools. You will also find various information such as the original purpose of the pools and special features as well as beautiful footage that describes the atmosphere in each place

The project received a grant from the Student Innovation Fund in the summer of 2021 and was created by three university students, Katrín Snorradóttir, MA in Ethnology, Móna Lea Óttarsdóttir  student in product design and Ragnheiður Stefánsdóttir student in graphic design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts.

The students went to all the pools themselves, met guests and the pool supervisors and learned about each place individually.
